Special Events Guide

Thank you for your interest in assisting with a nonprofit organization’s special event. The Special Events Guide is compiled of responses from a survey that was distributed to over 1,000 nonprofit agencies and organizations in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

The guide is divided into two main sections – the Calendar of Events and the Special Event Volunteer Opportunities. The Calendar lists special events sponsored by or held for the benefit of local nonprofit agencies. The events; such as exhibits, 10K runs, health fairs, walk-a-thons, golf tournaments and art auctions; are broken down into sections by event date. The Special Event Volunteer Opportunities Guide lists special events in need of volunteers. Each entry includes the name of the organization, name of the event, contact person with telephone number, event location, volunteer times and descriptions of the volunteer opportunities. The entire Special Events Guide is updated regularly, so check back frequently. Please be sure to mention to the organization that you learned about their volunteer needs on the United Way website.
